The RED615 IEC line differential protection and measurement and control unit is a split-phase, double-ended line differential protection and measurement and control unit that perfectly coordinates overhead lines and cable feeders for public and industrial distribution networks. The RED615 can also be used for line differential applications when an in-area transformer is present in the protected feeder segment.
The RED615 units between substations communicate via a fiber optic line or a twisted-pair guide wire. RED615 features support for the substation IEC61850 communication standard, covering vertical and horizontal communication, GOOSE messages with switching signals and analog signals, and fixed setting based on IEC 61850-8-1.
The RED615 IEC Line differential protection and measurement and control device also supports Modbus®, DNP3, and IEC 60870-5-103 protocols.
RED615 provides an optional Ethernet port for ring self-healing communications.
